I’m fascinated about the origins of life, the universe and the physical, chemical, political and karmic reactions that created the world we are in today. It’s about actions and reactions and I feel that my new art projects are a part of this process. Converting one kind of energy into to another and giving it a new kind of life at least temporarily until it transmutes into something else.
In practise for me, It’s about the reaction of chemicals, pigments, water, oil and colours on the canvas and how much or little control we have over the result. What can we create? Does it have life? How long will it last? Is their Devine intervention involved?....... I like to think so. I feel a need to remain open to some higher guiding power, to let go of my ego and paint in an unselfconscious, direct manner in order to produce work that appears natural, spontaneous and uncontrived. That’s what gives me real satisfaction especially about certain pieces of my work
